The DFW Summer Series began in the summer of 2013 as the Erwin Park Summer Series and took place at Erwin Park in McKinney Texas. The races began as an opportunity for local mountain bikers to get out, ride their bike in a competitive environment and to help grow our local community.

Over the years we have overcome multiple obstacles, a few promoter changes and seen a ton of fun racing. We stand united, as a community of racers, volunteers and bicycle loving knuckleheaded enthusiasts who just want to keep providing an opportunity to race.

Special thanks goes out to all the folks over the years for help with our branding, setup, administration and just showing up to volunteer their time to help make this possible. First off a huge thanks to the Colormate Racing Foundation for growing this series during their time as promoters. Next To ReCycles McKinney for the invaluable support and guidance that paved the way in the early days. Third our thanks to Dallas Off-Road Bicycle Association and their Trail Stewards for not just maintaining but always improving the Erwin Park trail. Finally thanks to Insurance for Texans who has been a great friend and sponsor of the series since it’s early beginnings. Without all of these organizations and individual people giving freely of their time, knowledge and expertise there is no way we would be enjoying this racing today.

We are extremely grateful to the city of McKinney for allowing us to hold the races within their wonderful park, and finally to the community for creating and maintaining the wonderful trails we have access to. Without the consent and help of each of these organizations the DFW Summer Series would still just be a dream.
